Patrick Derde

Patrick Derde is a seasoned Architect, and has broad and deep experience with different architectures, including Business, Information, and IT (Technical) architectures. With his experience and knowledge, he helps organizations to integrate these architectures in pragmatic and meaningful ways, to achieve business results.

Patrick started his career as a Development Project Leader for medical software, where parameterization was a Critical Success Factor. Since 1989, he has been working with KBC Bank as an Enterprise Architect, where he develops Information Architectures in alignment with the IT and Business Architectures. Over the years, he has trained and coached numerous Analysts in the art and science of Data and Information Modelling.

As an independent consultant, Patrick worked closely with IKAN Software NV, as the Chief Architect for a Data and Information Modelling tool, which was acquired by Oracle.

Patrick advises several not-for-profit foundations active in investments for sustainable development and social responsibility, such as Oikocredit (Microfinance), Ecolife (Ecologically sustainable development), and Vigeo (Corporate Social Responsibility ratings agency).

His career interest in Data and Information Management led him to start up (as a Founding Member and Director) the Belgium and Luxembourg chapter of DAMA (Data Management Association), a not-for-profit, vendor-neutral professional association, dedicated to the effective management of data and information as business assets.

Patrick is a TOGAF 811 Certified Architect, and is very knowledgeable in other Architectural Frameworks (such as IBM’s IFW) and with other industry initiatives such as ITIL (IT Information Library).

Patrick holds a Master in Commercial and Business Administration Engineering from the K U Leuven. He also graduated in Insurance Sciences at the K U Leuven. His domains of specialization include Accountancy and Auditing, Marketing and Informatics.


René De Vleeschauwer

René De Vleeschauwer is a leading entrepreneur with over 25 years experience, providing technology-based solutions to major international organizations, primarily in the area of information management. These solutions have been effectively deployed by these organizations to meet many unique business challenges.

René started his career as a Programmer/Analyst and soon became a Project Leader, for several government projects. After that, he moved into consultancy, as a Technical Manager responsible for hiring, training and mentoring the consultants.

In the late 1980’s, he started his own company to represent major American software firms in markets in Belgium, Holland and France, with sales and distribution of products used for data modeling and database design, data extraction, and change management. Over the years his company developed a series of development tools, including a tool today known as SQL Developer Data Modeling, acquired by Oracle in 2008.

René has a deep understanding of the information challenges which are facing today’s organizations. He works closely and carefully with these organizations, to help them to get started on their journey towards effectively managing information as a business asset, in alignment with their business strategy.

René holds a holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Ghent (RUG), Belgium.
